Ken Phillips

Ken Phillips, CSCMP., C.P.M. | President

Ken has experience working in the Aerospace industry, Electronics Manufacturing Services sector, and presently in a Management Consulting practice he owns called DK Phillips Consulting Inc (DKPC).

Ken holds a college diploma in Business Administration – Materials Management from Conestoga College and holds a professional accreditation in Supply Chain Management both in Canada and the US.

Ken has furthered his education and training in Lean Manufacturing, Strategic Planning, TS16949 Quality Systems, and Operations Excellence.

Ken started his Business Management Consulting practice called DK Phillips Consulting Inc. in February 2007 and currently represents over 80+ clients in southwestern Ontario.

Ken co-developed a web based project management tool called “Precision SRED” with Extreme Technology Corporation that is utilized by Clients to prepare and file SR&ED tax credits. Since inception, DKPC has successfully claimed hundreds of SR&ED tax credits for Clients.

The DKPC business model is focused on providing three core competencies to small-medium enterprises (SME):

1) Science and technical writing to pursue government grant & loans
2) Lean Manufacturing guidance and training, and
3) SR&ED tax credit consultation services

The ability to provide SME’s with a low fee structure, technical experience, and simple effective tools has resulted in higher returns on investment for clients.

Gustaaf de Man

Gustaaf de Man (Guus) is an educational consultant specializing in Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED), Grant and Loan Applications, and Lean Manufacturing. His services span the areas of SR&ED technical writing, grant and loan application writing, and on-the-job training.

Guus has a Masters of Education from Brock University and a Bachelors of Industrial Engineering from Kettering University (General Motors Institute). He is also a board member of the Niagara Industrial Association.

Guus has over 35 years’ experience as a professional educator, facilitator, communicator, and engineer. He has developed customized tools for learners and their managers, and is known to be a goal-oriented, customer-focused individual with strong leadership capabilities. He is organized, highly motivated, and a creative problem solver with a proven ability to work with others.

Bill MacGregor

Bill MacGregor, M.A.Sc., P.Eng, PMP | R&D Technical Consultant

William A. MacGregor (Bill) has more than three decades of Engineering and Leadership experience in the International Aerospace and Food Industries including Operational, Repair & Overhaul, Design and Project & Program Management roles.

Author of eleven journal and conference publications Bill has lead a number of technology consulting projects including: energy auditing; food and electronic game research, development & commercialization; technology feasibility reviews; SR&ED tax credit submissions; business plan development; and Government grants/loan applications.

As CEO of an International Food Manufacturing Firm, he successfully lead and managed two (2) ten-fold manufacturing expansions over three years, from bench-scale to pilot-plant to full commercial scale production.

Since submitting his first SR&ED claim in the mid 1990′s, Bill has prepared hundreds of claims for Electronic Gaming, Agriculture and Agri-Food, Plastic Resin, Plastic Product Manufacturing, Aerospace Machining, Welding, Metal Forming & Fabrication, Packaging Equipment, Wheelchairs, Cleaning Products, Pavement Marking and Blood Alcohol Sensing Clients.

Bill has taught Engineering at Dalhousie University and Physics at Saint Mary’s University, both in Halifax.

Bill holds a Diploma in Automated Manufacturing Technology from the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology (NSIT), a Bachelor of Engineering Physics from Royal Military College (RMC) and a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Thermodynamics) from The Technical University of Nova Scotia (TUNS). He is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in the province of Nova Scotia. He has also achieved PMP certification with PMI.

Douglas J. Gray

Douglas J. Gray (Doug) began his career as an aircraft maintenance officer with the Department of National Defence with roles that varied from flight line maintenance to systems engineering for a major aircraft acquisition project. For the past fifteen years he has held senior project and management roles for start-up technology companies within the chemical processing industry. He is experienced with the design, construction and operations of process facilities that include the implementation of technologies ranging from environmental applications to the production of alternate fuels.

In addition, Doug has lead a number of technology consulting projects that have included such projects as: energy auditing, development of reliability models, technology feasibility reviews, SR&ED tax credit submissions, business plan development, and Government grants/loan applications.

Doug holds a baccalaureate in Mechanical Engineering from Royal Military College (RMC) and a Master’s of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph. He is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in the province of Ontario. He has also achieved PMP certification with PMI.

Mr. Gray holds a baccalaureate in Mechanical Engineering from Royal Military College (RMC) and a Masters of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph. Deb Phillips

Deb Phillips, BASc | Project Manager

Deb started her career as a Marketing and Sales Analyst in Manufacturing. She worked for 8 years for BCL Magnetics in the role of Analyst, Inside Sales Manager, and Project Development. Deb has worked for DKPC Inc. since February 2007 as the Project Manager, and is responsible for managing contracts, finances, SR&ED/Writing & Editor, and Business Communications.

Deb holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) specializing in Business and Consumer Studies from the University of Guelph.
